Phillip Schulze, (born 1979) is a media/sound artist and composer who
is currently studying media art in Germany at the University of Art
and Design (HfG) in Karlsruhe that was build in collaboration with
the ZKM.
He studied experimental composition at the Wesleyan University as a
exchange student in the year 2004 - 2005 and will continue studying
at Wesleyan joining the master programm in experimental composition
in 2006 - 2008.
The focus of his work is mostly dedicated to music and video art,
nonetheless he is highly appreciative of the other artistic
expressions and the mixture of them. Schulze's artistic work has
primarily involved experimental electronic music, compositions,
improvisation, and differnent areas in media art such as video,
photography, film, installations and internet projects. His work has
been performed or installed in germany, france, switzerland, china,
poland and usa.
Phillip Schulze studied and collaborate among others with: Michael
Saup, Paul Modler, Anna Jermolaewa, Alvin Lucier, Anthony Braxton,
Ron Kuivila, Siegfried Mauser.
